DEVELOPMENT OF INDUSTRY-LED BEAUTY SERVICES FRAMEWORK
N.A.I.L.S together with the Singapore Government agency and other beauty/wellness associations launched an industry alliance and a competency framework to tackle challenges such as attracting local talent and uplifting service standards in the beauty and wellness sectors.
The BSCF provides a framework of career progression pathways for the more than 13,300 employees in the industry, covering 45 job roles across five tracks. It aims to increase job positions for locals by 30 percent in the next five years.
ABOUT BEAUTY SERVICES ALLIANCE (BSA)
The Beauty Services Alliance (BSA) was established in 2019 to propel the development and growth of the local beauty services industry through initiatives that help build a future-ready workforce. As a collective body, BSA serves to represent the needs of all beauty, hair, make-up, nails, spa and wellness businesses.
BSA was formed by members from the Complementary Wellness Association International, Hair & Cosmetology Association (Singapore), Nailist Association for International Licenses Singapore, Spa Professionals Association of Singapore, and Spa & Wellness Association Singapore.
BEAUTY SERVICES COMPETENCY FRAMEWORK
Developed by BSA, the Beauty Services Competency Framework (BSCF) provides key information on sector and employment opportunities, skills and competencies for job roles and career pathways. An industry-led framework supported by Enterprise Singapore and SkillsFuture Singapore, the BSCF is relevant for individuals, employers, training providers and professional bodies across the beauty aesthetics, hair, makeup, nails, spa and wellness sectors.
